Are maths SL and physics HL enough to get me to do mechanical engineering in university? Hi, I am going to do IB next year and I chose to do SL maths and HL physics since I want to study mechanical engineering in university. When I was going through the university prospectus, I found out that HL maths and HL physics are required. I heard that HL maths is really difficult, so I don't want to do it. Would universities still accept you if you do SL maths with HL physics?
Oxford University Prospectus.? I'm looking at prospectuses for universities, which I am interested in, and I want to look at Oxford's, however, I can't get a hard copy, without printing one out, and I don't have a printer, and I hate reading things, of a great length, on my computer screen. So I was wondering if anyone knew how to get one sent to me? Or if it's not possible at all? Thanks x

What is a better university for Media? University of the Arts London or Oxford Brookes? I am thinking about going into Publishing Design/Graphic Design, which are all in the 'Media' Category. I was looking through prospectus's, and i liked the look of the 'Publishing Media' course at Brookes, but i know that the University of the Arts London specializes in Design etc. Has anyone been to, or has heard about either of the University's that could give me a hand in making my decision? Also if there are any other University's you would reccomend that would also be great!
How do I choose a University? Greetings. I am a Lower Sixth Form student and I'm wondering what is the best way to choose a University? I mean there are so many to choose from, wading through prospectus after prospectus could get a bit tedious. Does anybody know of a University in Northwest England that does a good Film and Television course or something? Also, what is it like work load wise/ accomodation/ location wise, etc. Opinions from Uni-goers would be grand ;). Thanks.

Criminology at University with a business qualification? I'm currently doing a business and law course, which I adore. But I'm hoping to study criminology in University, I have researched it and I've ordered numerous prospectuses. But I know that most Universities like for you to have studied a related topic before they accept you, is business totally unrelated to criminology? Any help would be appreciated.

University Course Help? I seem to be spending all my time going through the UCAS website and University Prospectus' but I still don't know what course I want to do. I enjoy Spanish and learning languages but I don't fancy translating or teaching. I also like using computers and would hope to be able to use computers within my course. Finally I would like a course with the opportunity to work abroad and in the future I hope to start my own business in Spain. (Also, although people say it isn't the most important thing, I would like a reasonably well paid job.) I can't find a job that satisfy the criteria.
Will my university allow me to carry one failed second year module over into my third year? I know you can't carry over more than one failed module over into your second year, but what about your third year? Basically, i think i'm going to fail just one module and i was wondering if my university (Sheffield Hallam) would let me carry it over into my final year? I read through the course prospectus and scoured the internet but can't find anything! PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!! :)
Are you expected to be sporty at Oxford University? I am applying for an arts degree and whilst I am very passionate about my subject and theatrical hobbies, I am not at all interested in sports. The prospectus depicts it as being full of Olympic athletes. Would I be likely to fit in?
What is the difference between subjects offered in correspondence and regular studies? I'm looking forward to pursue my MA Political Science through correspondence. I'm little confused as i want to know if there is any difference in subjects offered in correspondence scheme and subjects offered to regular students of university. My confusion arise as i was going through subjects offered in correspondence scheme and i found that these subjects were less as compared to subjects mentioned in regular prospectus of university. Can any one guide me.
Is the University of Edinburgh really hard to get into? I've started looking at university prospectuses, and Edinburgh has by far been my favourite. I want to study history, which i need to get 3 B's at A-level, which i hope i can achieve or better. I am currently doing my AS levels which i am studying History, Art, Eng lit and Psychology. But i am from London and i have heard that if you live in the south don't even bother applying as they favour scottish people more (even though i am part scottish:D) And even if i do get the minimum of 3 B's i am worried i will still not have a chance as History is probably a very popular choice.:S
Starting own business or university? When my parents and I were talking about university courses and were going through prospectus', I told them that I wasn't sure I wanted to go to university. Instead, I wanted to start my own business. As my aim for the future has always been to start my own business, going to university would only delay this for four years and leave me with 20,000 pounds in debt. Would it not be better for me to use my savings and start a business which would make money rather than go to university and lose money.
Do you have to do a bachelors before a masters (in UK)? I always assumed that you had to have a bachelors degree before you could do a masters, but some university prospectuses seem to imply that you can choose to go straight onto the masters course without having a bachelors degree first. Is this possible? Or have I misunderstood the prospectus?
Universities in Nebraska - Do they have prospectus'? Can anyone tell me if any universities in Nebraska have the American equivalent of an English prospectus [hard copy of info on courses and so on] that I can apply for? I'd like to study sciences, so law schools and so on aren't what I'm looking for. Can anyone point me in the right direction?
When will the oxford 2010 prospectus be available? Or other universities like Durham, St Andrews, Edinburgh, Royal Holloway, Manchester, Bristol? I'll be applying this autumn for 2010 entry, and I'd really like to be looking at the prospectuses that apply to me - but they only seem to be offering the 2009 ones at the moment. If anyone knows, or has an idea when they might be coming out, that'd be great :) Cool, thanks :)
